* Documents needed to fill out the FAFSA

* How to make sure you are filling out the application correctly

* Information on scholarships for undocumented students

College Trips: Solorio Heads to the Buckeye State

50 students, staff, and parents spent their Veteran’s Day on an overnight college tour of Ohio Universities.  Students visited Central State University, Wittenburg University and The Ohio State University. 

Solorio Math Team Climbs Standings After 2nd Contest of Year

After the City of Chicago Math League Contest #2, Solorio is now ranked #2 as a team citywide for division C schools, a field of 15 schools.  Individual awardsAlgebra I 3rd place : Steve Guzman Geometry 1st place: Moises Reyes (awesome score today!) 3rd place: Rodrigo Cabral (his first competition) Pre-calculus 3rd place tie – Vanessa Ocampo Team Awards Algebra I – 2nd place  Geometry – 2nd place  Algebra II – 2nd place  Pre-calculus – 3rd place  Moises Reyes and Steve Guzman both broke the 10-point barrier today, which is an impressive feat.  Moises clocked in at 13 points and Steve at 10 points.  Rodrigo Cabral scored 9 points in his debut competition.  Many new Solorio students joined and competed for the first time.  Anyone interested in joining should see Mr. Clarke in room 332.  

Service Learning @ Solorio: Service Learning Club Gardens at Morrill Elementary

Solorio’s Service Learning Club helped prepare Morrill Elementary School’s garden for the winter. Ten students volunteered with Openlands Chicago to remove unwanted weeds from Morrill Elementary School’s new community garden. This space has become an important part of the community and Solorio students helped to keep it healthy for the next growing season! We hope to be back in the spring to help plant!
